Simulated Control System for Dual Mass Spring Damper Systems

  • Conducted analytical study on plant shown in Figure 1.1 below and investigated controllers to assist achieving certain performances

  • Implemented and reviewed an implementation of the plant in MATLAB Simulink SimScape MultiBody

  • Derived State-Space representation and verified using MATLAB simulation

  • Designed PID controllers to achieve critical damping and minimize steady state error for step, linear and sine wave inputs

  • Designed state-feedback controllers using the pole placement method to meet target damping ratio and settling times.

  • Implemented all the above in MATLAB Simulink SimScape MultiBody
